Passing target: 80% (32/40)
Your car and another car collide at low speed. No one is hurt, both cars can still be driven, and they are blocking a travel lane. What should you do?
A and B are stopped in a travel lane after a minor crash. The card states that nobody is hurt and both cars can still be driven.
Correct answer: Move both cars out of the lane, then exchange your information with the other driver
Why
Moving damaged cars out of the lane lowers the risk of a second crash, and RSA 264:25-a requires it when it can be done without more damage or injury. If anyone is hurt, call 911, give aid, and do not move injured people unless it is necessary. You must also file a written report with the DMV within 15 days when someone is hurt or killed or total damage is over $1,000, unless a police officer investigates the crash.
