On a two-lane road, you come up behind a vehicle that has a fluorescent orange triangle with red borders mounted on its rear. What does this emblem tell you?
A blue car approaches a green tractor on a two-lane road. An orange triangle with a red border is mounted on the tractor’s rear and is shown enlarged beside the roadway.
Correct answer: The vehicle travels at less than 25 mph, so you will close in on it quickly
Why
At highway speed, you can close the gap to a vehicle going under 25 mph very quickly, so slow down as soon as you see the emblem. State law requires tractors and animal-drawn vehicles to display it (RSA 266:46-a), and the manual also shows it on construction equipment. Stay back, and pass only when you can see that it is safe and legal.
