Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
On a rural road, you pass a round yellow sign with a black X and the letters R and R. You do not see or hear a train yet. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, look and listen both ways, and be ready to stop
Why
Trains can come to a crossing at any time and from either direction, and a train at 55 mph needs more than a mile to stop. If a signal, gate, flagger or train warns you, stop between 15 and 50 feet from the nearest rail and wait until it is safe to go. At the crossing, check twice in each direction before you cross.
