Vehicle Safety, Documents & TowingStandalone practice
You drive a car that has front and side air bags. One adult friend rides in the front seat, and two adult friends ride in the back seat. Who must wear a seat belt while the car moves forward on a city street?
Correct answer: You and all three friends, in the front seat and in the back seat
Why
Seat belts are your main protection in a crash, and air bags are only extra protection. If the car has an automatic shoulder belt, you must also fasten the lap belt. The law has a few exceptions, such as a medical condition that prevents the use of a belt, but they do not apply to ordinary riders.
