Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
Light rain has just started after a dry week. You pass a yellow diamond sign that shows a car with two wavy tire tracks behind it. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, because the road can be most slippery in the first minutes of rain
Why
When rain begins after a dry spell, it mixes with oil, dirt and rubber on the pavement and makes a slick film for about the first 10 to 15 minutes. On wet pavement, drive at least 5 to 10 mph slower than on dry pavement, and keep at least twice your normal following distance. Brake and steer gently, because sudden actions can start a skid.
