Who has priority when a driver enters a highway from an acceleration lane or ramp?
Blue car A is in an acceleration lane beside eastbound highway traffic. Silver B is ahead and C behind in the nearest through lane.
Correct answer: Traffic already on the highway; wait for a safe gap.
Why
Obey the signs at the interchange and yield to through traffic until there is a safe gap. Use the acceleration lane to reach a suitable speed for traffic without exceeding the limit, signal, check mirrors and the blind spot, and merge only when safe. Stop if a sign or traffic conditions require it.
