While you back out of a parking space, you dent a parked car. No one is in it, and you cannot find its owner nearby. What must you do?
Correct answer: Leave a note in the car with your name, address, the facts, and vehicle and insurance details
Why
When you hit an unattended vehicle, first try to find its owner or driver. If you cannot, leave a written note in a place where it will be seen. Oregon law requires your name and address, the vehicle owner's name and address, a short statement of what happened, and your registration and insurance information. If you damage other property, such as a fence or a mailbox, you must also try to tell its owner.
