How should a passenger wear a properly fitted lap-and-shoulder seat belt?
Correct answer: With the lap belt firm on the hips and the shoulder belt close across the chest
Why
Fasten both belt portions. Wear the lap part firmly across the hips and the shoulder part close against the chest and over the shoulder. Remove slack; do not put the shoulder belt behind your back or under your arm. One belt is for one person.
