Your car has functioning anti-lock brakes (ABS), and you need an emergency stop. How should you use the brake pedal?
Correct answer: Press firmly, hold the pressure and steer to a safe path.
Why
Press the brake pedal firmly and keep pressure on it, allowing ABS to control wheel locking. Keep looking toward a safe path and steer as needed. Do not pump the pedal as a substitute for ABS. This applies to a functioning anti-lock system during an emergency stop; it is not the procedure for a failed service brake.
