Passing target: 75% in each of the three areas
On an undivided road, you approach a school bus from the opposite direction. Its red lights are flashing. What must you do?
Blue car A approaches a yellow school bus from the opposite direction on an undivided road. Silver B is behind the bus. The bus has flashing red warning lamps and its stop arm extended. The drawing is not to scale.
Correct answer: Stop more than 5 m from the bus until its signals end and it is safe.
Why
Stop more than 5 m from the bus. Remain stopped until the red lights are off, the stop arm is retracted and you can proceed safely. Either warning device is enough to require the stop. The opposing-direction exception concerns an adjacent roadway separated by a median or another raised physical divider; paint alone is not that separation.
