Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
On a two-lane road, you see a yellow diamond sign. Its black symbol shows the two edges of the road bending apart around a center island, with the island at the top of the symbol. What does the sign tell you?
Correct answer: A divided highway begins; keep to the roadway on the right of the median
Why
A divided highway has a median, such as a barrier, guardrail, grass strip or water, between the two directions of traffic. Cross the median only at a marked opening or crossover, never over the grass or the barrier. When you turn onto a divided highway, check that you enter the right-hand roadway, because the wrong side puts you head-on with traffic.
