Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You drove past the store where you wanted to stop. At the next intersection, a sign shows a black U-shaped arrow inside a red circle with a red slash across it. No traffic is coming. What should you do?

Correct answer: Keep going, and turn around later where no sign or law prohibits it
Why
A red circle with a slash means that the action shown inside it is prohibited. When you plan a turnabout, the manual also asks for a clear view of 500 feet in each direction, no nearby hills or curves, and a distance of at least 200 feet from an intersection. Going around the block is often the safest way to change direction.
