Passing target: 20 correct signs and 20 correct rules
You are a Class 7 learner and want to return a routine phone call. A lawful parking area is ahead. What should you do?
A blue car travels in the right lane beside an entrance to a separate parking area.
Correct answer: Leave traffic and park safely before making the call.
Why
For a routine call, leave the phone alone until you have left traffic and parked safely in a lawful place. Drivers in the GDL program must not use hand-held or hands-free cellphones while driving. The experienced-driver allowance for certain one-touch or voice-activated hands-free calls does not apply to a Class 7 learner. The Act separately permits reporting an emergency to police, fire or emergency medical services; that is not the routine call in this question.
