Passing target: 20 correct signs and 20 correct rules
A driver must complete a mandatory ignition interlock term and has not been granted an exemption. Can the driver satisfy that term simply by leaving the vehicle unused and waiting the same number of days without the device?
Correct answer: No. The device must remain installed until the interlock term ends.
Why
A mandatory interlock term is not completed by merely waiting without the device. The device must remain installed for the required term, including any extension, and the driver must meet the program and licence conditions. SGI says the term begins when the interlock restricted licence is validated and only counts while that licence is active and unsuspended. Do not remove the device or assume ordinary driving privileges have returned without confirming the requirements with SGI.
