Passing target: 20 correct signs and 20 correct rules
A follows motorcycle B. May the driver of A move alongside B within the same traffic lane?
Blue car A follows motorcycle B in the right lane of a two-lane road carrying traffic in the same direction.
Correct answer: No. Give B the full lane and pass only when it is safe.
Why
Never drive a car alongside a motorcycle in the same lane, even when the lane is wide or the rider is near one side. Pass as you would pass a car, only when safe, and leave enough room before returning ahead. SGI recommends the same three-second following interval as for other vehicles, with more room on wet or slippery roads.
