Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a four-lane highway, you drive in the right lane behind a motorcycle. The rider stays in the left part of the lane, and the right part of the lane looks empty. You want to pass. What must you do?
A follows motorcycle B in the right lane of a four-lane highway. The rider is toward the left part of that lane, with no passing route selected.
Correct answer: Move completely into the left lane to pass, as you would for a car
Why
Riders change position within the lane to see, to be seen, and to avoid hazards such as potholes, gravel, and pavement seams. A car that crowds into the same lane leaves the rider no room to react. When you follow a motorcycle, the manual advises at least a 4-second following distance, and more on wet roads.
