Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
After a crash, the other driver sits in his car with a bleeding arm. He says he is fine and wants to get out and walk around. There is no fire or other danger. What should you do?
Correct answer: Call an ambulance with the exact location, press a clean pad on the wound and keep him still.
Why
Some crash injuries, such as neck, back and internal injuries, do not show at first, and help from people without training can do more harm than good. If a person must be moved because of danger, get help and try to keep the body in the same position. Keep the person comfortable: give shade when it is hot, and cover him with a coat or blanket when it is cold.
