On a freeway in a large city, your car and another car scrape each other in a main lane. No one is hurt, and both cars can still be driven normally. What should the two drivers do?
Blue A and silver B remain in one freeway main lane after a minor crash. The card states that no one is hurt and both cars can be driven normally. Only the two main lanes are visible; there is no depicted exit, refuge, frontage road or route.
Correct answer: Move both cars as soon as possible to a safe place, such as the frontage road.
Why
Cars stopped in freeway lanes are at high risk of a second, more serious crash, so the law puts clearing the lanes first. A car can be driven normally and safely only if it does not need a tow and can move under its own power without more damage or danger. If a person is hurt or a car cannot be driven normally and safely, call the police at once.
