Your car starts to lose power on I-89, but it can still move. You must stop. What should you do?
A travels in the right interstate lane above a broad breakdown lane. The card says it is losing power but can still move and must stop.
Correct answer: Move into the breakdown lane as far right as possible, raise the hood, and stay in the car
Why
Traffic on the interstate moves at high speed, so a car or a person near a travel lane is in great danger. The manual says that it is illegal to stop on an interstate except in an emergency. Vermont law also does not let you stop on the main traveled part of a highway, unless a disabled vehicle cannot be moved from it.
