Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
You drive at the 50 mph limit on a two-lane road. You pass a yellow diamond sign with a black arrow that curves to the right. A small yellow plaque below it shows 30 MPH. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow to about 30 mph before you enter the curve
Why
Yellow diamond signs warn of conditions ahead; they do not give orders like regulatory signs. A curve sign with a speed plaque tells you the safe speed for that curve. Do most of your slowing on the straight road before the curve, so that you keep better control in it. Virginia law makes it reckless driving to go faster than is reasonable for the conditions, whatever the posted limit.
