Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
You took an over-the-counter cold medicine that warns it can cause drowsiness. At dinner you had one glass of wine. What is the safe and legal choice?
Correct answer: Do not drive, because the drink and the medicine together can impair you
Why
Many cold, allergy and headache medicines cause drowsiness or slow your reactions, and alcohol makes these effects stronger. Read the label, and ask a pharmacist or doctor if you are not sure how a medicine affects you. If a drug impairs your driving, the DUI penalties are the same as for alcohol.
