Passing target: 85% (34/40)
On a wet curve, you turn the wheel too sharply, and the rear of your car starts to slide toward the outside of the curve. What should you do?
Blue A has turned too sharply on a wet right curve. Its rear is farther toward the outside of the curve; short gray marks indicate that existing slide. No recovery route is selected.
Correct answer: Ease off the gas, look where you want to go, and steer smoothly
Why
Over-correcting means that you turn the wheel more sharply than necessary, which can make the rear wheels slide to the outside of a turn. Most over-correction crashes involve only one vehicle, and a lower speed on curves prevents many of them. If your wheels leave the road, do not jerk the wheel: slow down gradually and steer back onto the road slowly.
