You see an orange diamond sign that reads ROAD WORK AHEAD. No workers or machines are in view yet. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down and watch for workers, flaggers, machines and lane changes
Why
Orange is the basic color for work-zone signs and devices, such as drums, cones, barricades and arrow panels, which guide you through the work area. A flagger in an orange vest may use a STOP/SLOW paddle or a flag to control traffic, and you must obey the flagger. Fines for disobeying work-zone instructions are higher when workers are present. On a barricade, stripes that slope down to the right tell you to keep to the right.
