At a four-way stop, a pickup on the cross street to your left stopped before you did. A car on your right stopped just after you. In what order should the three vehicles go?
Blue A, pickup B to its left, and car C to its right have stopped at a four-way stop. The card gives their arrival order: B, A, then C.
Correct answer: The pickup, then you, then the car on your right
Why
At a four-way stop, every driver must stop, and drivers take turns in the order in which they stopped. If two drivers stop at the same time, or you are not sure, yield to the driver on your right. Wyoming law also requires you to yield to any vehicle already in the intersection and to pedestrians in the crosswalk. Never insist on the right-of-way if a crash could result.
