Emergency And Roadside WorkersStandalone practice
Unless a peace officer directs otherwise, how closely may an ordinary driver follow an emergency vehicle with a siren or flashing lights operating?
Correct answer: Not within 150 metres
Why
Keep at least 150 metres back from an emergency vehicle using a siren, flashing lights or both, unless a peace officer directs otherwise. Do not follow it through traffic to gain an advantage. The regulation has a separate exception for an operating emergency vehicle.
