Vehicle FailuresStandalone practice
What should a driver do immediately after a tire blowout?
A blue car is travelling at highway speed when a rear tire suddenly goes flat; an inset enlarges the damaged tire.
Correct answer: Grip the wheel firmly and ease off the gas
Why
After a tire failure, resist immediate braking. Take your foot off the accelerator and hold a straight controlled course. Once speed is reduced and control is secure, brake gently, move to a safe stopping place and turn on the hazards.
