What does it mean to cover the brake?
Correct answer: Rest your foot on the brake pedal without pressing it
Why
When a hazard may require stopping, lift off the accelerator and position your foot lightly over the brake without applying it. This prepares you to brake sooner; it is different from riding or repeatedly pumping the brake.
