For an eligible Class 7 novice, which progression process applies before and from October 19, 2026?
Correct answer: A Class 5 road test through October 18; a Driving Record Assessment from October 19
Why
Through October 18, 2026, an eligible novice can pass the Class 5 road test to leave GLP. From October 19, a Driving Record Assessment replaces that second test for eligible Class 7 drivers. After upgrading, new Class 5 graduates must complete 12 months of compliant Class 5 driving with no alcohol, cocaine or THC in the body; a covered prohibition can restart that period. Meet ICBC’s record and experience criteria and follow its upgrade instructions.
