Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
A two-way road has a marked shared center left-turn lane. May you use it to pass a slow car?
A shared center lane has opposing left-turn pavement arrows between yellow boundaries. Blue and silver vehicles are in the outside through lanes, without letter labels.
Correct answer: No. It is only for vehicles making left turns.
Why
A shared center turn lane serves left turns from or into the road and preparation for a lawful U-turn. It is not a through lane or passing lane. Watch for oncoming drivers entering it to turn, and enter only as needed for your intended movement.
