Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
On a two-lane highway posted at 50 mph, for how much of the approach must a driver signal continuously before turning?
A blue vehicle approaches a turn on a two-lane highway. An inset shows its right signal; the caption says the posted limit is above 40 mph.
Correct answer: At least the last 200 feet.
Why
Signal continuously for at least the last 200 feet before this turn. The 200-foot rule applies on all four-lane highways and on other highways with a speed limit over 40 mph. The ordinary minimum elsewhere is 100 feet. Check that the turn is safe and do not let a signal suggest an unintended earlier turn.
