Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You want to pass an ordinary motor vehicle on a two-way road. A solid yellow no-passing line is on your side, and no special exception applies. What does the line mean?
Blue car A and silver car B face opposite ways beside a solid and broken yellow centerline pair. The solid line is beside A.
Correct answer: Do not cross it to pass another vehicle.
Why
Do not cross the line to pass the motor vehicle. A slow vehicle alone does not create an exception. Colorado separately permits a safe pass of a bicyclist moving in the same direction and lane when it does not interfere with or endanger other traffic. Keep at least three feet from the bicyclist. Separate safe-turn and obstruction exceptions also exist; a no-passing line does not give permission to ignore oncoming traffic.
