Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Under Connecticut’s general parking rule, with no qualifying curb extension, available marked space or other exception, how far must you stay from an intersection or the approach to a marked crosswalk?
Correct answer: At least 30 feet
Why
Keep at least 30 feet clear. A curb extension at least as wide as the parking lane allows the specified 20-foot clearance, and an available marked parking space may also be an exception. New or reinstalled marked spaces must meet their placement requirements. Emergency situations, official directions and qualifying local parking rules have separate provisions. The general clearance from a STOP or YIELD sign is also 30 feet.
