Passing target: 80% (20/25)
On a highway with two lanes in your direction, an ordinary car is stationary on the right shoulder. You are in the adjacent lane and can safely move left. What should you do?
Blue A is in the right travel lane behind silver B, which is on the right shoulder. Both travel lanes point right, the left lane is clear, and the card states that B has hazard lights flashing.
Correct answer: Slow below the posted limit and move left one lane.
Why
When any vehicle is pulled over on a highway or road, slow down below the posted speed limit and move over one lane when it is safe (manual p18). The rule covers ordinary cars, not only police or tow trucks. Do not force a lane change into occupied space, and watch for people beside the stopped car.
