A vehicle ahead is about to turn left. May you pass it on the right?
Blue A follows silver B, which is preparing to turn left, on a wide paved two-way road. Extra paved room is visible to the right of B. The road edge is marked; no shoulder is depicted.
Correct answer: Only if it is safe and you stay on the main paved road.
Why
A safe right-side pass can be lawful when the vehicle ahead is making or about to make a left turn. Other permitted cases involve sufficiently wide, unobstructed roadways or one-way streets. Never drive off the pavement or main-traveled portion to make the pass. Wait when there is no lawful safe space.
