Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You park facing uphill at the right edge of a road with no curb. Which way should you turn the front wheels?
Car A faces uphill on a rural road with no curb. It is parked on the right shoulder, outside the traveled roadway. The front wheels have not yet been set.
Correct answer: Away from traffic, toward the roadside.
Why
With no curb on the right side, turn the front wheels toward the road edge. Set the parking brake and select Park in an automatic or the appropriate low/reverse gear in a manual. Uphill beside a curb is different: turn the wheels away so the curb can catch a backward roll.
