How may drivers use a shared center lane marked for left turns from both directions?
A three-lane two-way road has an empty shared center lane. Solid yellow lines are outside, beside the through lanes; broken yellow lines are inside, beside the shared lane. Opposite white left-turn arrows mark the shared lane. Blue A faces east and silver B faces west in their own through lanes.
Correct answer: Only for left turns, from either direction.
Why
The center lane is shared by opposing directions for left-turn maneuvers. Enter carefully only for that purpose, watch for an opposing vehicle using the same lane, and do not use it to pass or to continue along the road. Follow the lane’s signs and markings.
