Passing target: 80% (20/25)
A solid yellow center line is on your side and a broken yellow line is on the opposite side. May you cross the center line for an ordinary pass of another motor vehicle?
Blue A and silver B face opposite directions on a two-lane road. The yellow center marking is solid on A’s side and broken on B’s side.
Correct answer: No; the solid line on your side prohibits it.
Why
With a solid-and-broken pair, only traffic beside the broken line may cross for a lawful pass when safe. This question concerns ordinary overtaking. A restriction on passing does not by itself forbid a lawful left turn into or out of an alley, private road or driveway, or another specifically authorized movement. Never assume an exception permits an unsafe crossing.
