A load extends at least 4 feet beyond the rear of a vehicle. How must its end be marked?
Correct answer: A red flag by day; a red light visible 500 feet at night.
Why
If a load extends 4 feet or more beyond the rear of the vehicle’s bed or body, mark its extreme end. When lights are not required, use a red flag or cloth at least 12 inches square. When lights are required, use an additional red light or lantern visible at least 500 feet to the sides and rear.
