Passing target: 7 correct signs and 18 correct rules
An authorized emergency vehicle approaches with audible and visual signals. What should another driver do?
On an ordinary two-way road, a white-and-blue box ambulance approaches behind blue car A with red warning lights flashing and its siren sounding. The roadway edge to A’s right is clear.
Correct answer: Pull right, out of the intersection, and stop until it passes.
Why
For an immediately approaching authorized emergency vehicle using a siren or the specified flashing lights, yield, move parallel and as close as possible to the right edge clear of an intersection, and stop until it passes. Follow a law enforcement officer's different directions. A stationary roadside vehicle has a different move-over rule.
