At an all-way stop, vehicle A and the vehicle on its right, B, arrive and stop at approximately the same time. Both intend to continue straight. Which driver must yield?
Blue vehicle A approaches from the left and silver vehicle B approaches from the bottom, on A’s right. Each approach has a STOP sign and painted stop line.
Correct answer: The driver of A, on the left of B.
Why
At simultaneous arrival and stopping, A yields to the vehicle on its right, B. B can proceed when the crossing is safe. Both drivers must still watch for pedestrians and other traffic; priority does not authorize forcing a collision.
