Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
May a driver move left of center to pass near a hill crest or curve when the forward view is obstructed?
Correct answer: No, not while the view ahead is blocked.
Why
Do not drive left of center near a crest or curve where the view along the highway is obstructed for approximately 700 feet. Iowa also prohibits left-side travel within 100 feet of or through an intersection or railroad crossing, and within 100 feet of a narrow bridge, viaduct or tunnel when so signposted. Restrictive signs and center markings also apply. A slow vehicle ahead does not remove these restrictions.
