Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
You are in a left-turn lane on a two-way road facing a steady red left arrow. No sign or other device permits turning after a stop. What must you do?

Correct answer: Stop and stay stopped until a signal permits the turn.
Why
A steady red arrow requires a stop and prohibits the indicated movement until a signal or traffic-control device permits it. The adopted standard has an exception for a device expressly permitting the turn after a stop; none is present here. A later flashing yellow arrow can permit a yielding turn, so the rule is not simply “wait only for green.”
