Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
A traffic signal displays a steady red circular light. What must a driver do?

Correct answer: Stop at the line and wait until a lawful movement is allowed.
Why
Stop at the marked line, or before the near crosswalk if no line exists; if neither exists, stop before entering the intersection. Remain stopped unless a lawful movement is permitted. A permitted turn still requires a full stop, no prohibiting sign, the correct turning course and yielding to lawful conflicting traffic and pedestrians.
