Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
An ordinary car is parked uphill on the right side of the road beside a curb. Which way should its front wheels point?
Car A faces uphill with the curb on its right. The small road-profile diagram shows the slope. The car is shown before its front wheels are set for parking.
Correct answer: Away from the curb, so a backward roll stops at it.
Why
Turn the front wheels away from the right curb. A backward roll can then bring a tire against the curb. Set the parking brake and use the vehicle’s appropriate parking gear or transmission procedure; do not rely on wheel direction alone.
