A pedestrian with a raised white cane is attempting to cross near an intersection. Stopping is necessary to avoid endangering them. What must you do?
Correct answer: Bring the vehicle to a full stop and protect the pedestrian.
Why
Take the precautions necessary to avoid injuring or endangering the qualifying pedestrian, and stop fully when that is necessary. The law covers specified canes, guide dogs and wheelchair users at or near an intersection or crosswalk. A pedestrian does not lose ordinary legal protection merely because a cane or dog is absent.
