Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Before making a three-point turn, what condition is essential?
Correct answer: Clear traffic, a clear view and room for each move
Why
A three-point turn crosses the road more than once. Use it only where lawful, with enough visibility, room and clear traffic for every part of the maneuver. Maine prohibits reversing direction near a curve or hillcrest where an approaching driver in either direction cannot see the vehicle within 500 feet. A safe alternative is to continue to a suitable turning place.
