With no obstruction or special lane control, where should you begin and finish an ordinary right turn?
An empty four-way junction has a two-way approach and a receiving road with more than one lane in each direction. No actor or route selects a lane.
Correct answer: From the lane nearest the right curb into the lane nearest the right curb.
Why
Normally turn right from the lane nearest the curb into the nearest right-hand lane, yielding to pedestrians and cyclists. MPI describes an exception when that receiving lane is blocked within 30 metres: use the next lane only when no traffic is approaching in it. Follow any special lane controls.
