Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
A road has one lane in each direction and a center lane. Each edge of the center lane has a solid yellow line with a dashed yellow line beside it, on the center-lane side. How may you use the center lane?
A three-lane road has one lane each direction and an empty center lane. Its borders are solid yellow outside and dashed yellow inside; no center-lane arrow or use label appears.
Correct answer: Only to make left turns, by traffic from either direction
Why
Move into the center lane shortly before your turn, not far back. Watch for drivers who turn left from the other direction into the same lane. A CENTER LANE LEFT TURN ONLY sign may also mark the lane.
