Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
You drive on a two-lane, two-way road. A yellow diamond sign shows the road splitting around a median island ahead, with an arrow on each side. What should you do?

Correct answer: Keep to the right of the median, and cross it only at an opening
Why
The Divided Highway Begins sign warns that a median or barrier will soon separate the two directions of traffic. Minnesota law requires you to drive on the right-hand roadway of a divided highway and to cross the median only at an opening, a crossover or an intersection. Watch for the start of the median, which can be hard to see at night or in snow.
