Passing target: 80% (24/30)
Your light is a circular green. You pulled into the intersection to wait for a gap so you can turn left, but oncoming cars keep coming. The light turns yellow and then red, and the oncoming cars stop. What should you do?
A is already inside the intersection waiting to turn left. Its light is now red and oncoming B is stopped beyond the crossing.
Correct answer: Finish the left turn as soon as it is safe, and do not back up
Why
On a circular green light, a driver who turns left must yield to oncoming vehicles that are in the intersection or close enough to be a danger. In heavy traffic, you may be able to turn only when the light changes and oncoming traffic stops. While you wait, keep your wheels straight: then a rear-end crash is less likely to push your car into the oncoming lane.
